Baby Lunch Ideas for Baby-Led Weaning
Lunch is often the first solid meal of the day at 6 months. Build it around an iron-rich food, a soft vegetable, and a fruit. Think chicken and broccoli, lentils and carrot, or salmon and avocado — all mashable.
Plate formula
Protein + vegetable + fruit or starch. Two items is enough. Sauce should be low-salt.
Examples
- Chicken strip, steamed broccoli, kiwi mash
- Lentil mash, soft carrot, tomato quarter
- Salmon flake with avocado, rice ball
- Tofu strip, sweet potato, mashed berries
Frequently asked questions
Can lunch be leftovers?
Yes, if they were stored safely, reheated until hot, then cooled, and still mashable. Skip restaurant leftovers that are salty.
