BLW Meal Plan for an 8-Month-Old
An 8-month-old often eats two to three small meals. You can add more mixed dishes — soft pasta, toast strips, yogurt — while keeping iron on the plate every day. Pincer grasp may start; add some small flattened pieces alongside larger strips.
Sample day
Breakfast
- Plain yogurt or eggs
- Toast strip
- Smashed blueberries
Lunch
- Soft pasta with mashed beans or shredded chicken
- Quartered tomato or steamed vegetable
Dinner
- Salmon or tofu
- Potato or rice ball
- Soft fruit
Texture shift
Keep the mash test for new foods. You can offer a few pea-sized pieces of already-soft foods if your baby is raking or pinching. Do not jump to raw hard foods.
Frequently asked questions
Should I cut milk feeds at 8 months?
Usually not dramatically. Solids rise slowly. Your pediatrician can help if weight gain or diapers change.
